the downfall of uncle harrys bagels…

I recently went to Uncle Harry’s before going to an open job interview to make sure that I would have the caffeine and carbohydrates necessary to do my best and make a good impression for the interviewer. My hope my breakfast was a decent coffee and bagel. I had been there before during my undergrad and graduate school years and they always got more order right, the people were nice, and the coffee was decent. When, I came this time the worker there did not seem all that happy or enthusiastic or she was annoyed that I did not know what I wanted to order either way and she was not in a chipper mood.

I think gave my order of a plain bagel with strawberry cream cheese and an iced vanilla latte that combined almost cost seven dollars and given that I have no income currently coming in, this did not please me. This came with further disappointed that the bagel I received was burnt and had plain cream cheese schemer.  Furthermore, the latte I had ordered tasted so bad I thought it needed to grow up to be better coffee, I have had better coffee at McDonald’s for less money, and as far as I am concerned Starbucks should be pointing and laughing it this coffee, it was joke, and sadly I did not keep all of it down. So on top of getting my order wrong, the expensive caffeinated drink tasted bad also. Below is a picture of my order from Uncle Harry’s bagels:

the disappointing breakfast

So to readers out there I ask if you had similar bad experiences at Uncle Harry’s/ or if you had good experiences and mind was just an anomaly I would like to hear about that also..

The food that leaves something to be desired at seqouia brewing company

Now I am usually a champion for any local businesses, and prior to this experience I actually had a good experience at the Sequoia brewing company. I went to go see a musical with my dad and ordered their salmon blt with a side of fruit and it was delicious and the service was spot on, we never had to call the waiter over for anything. However, in the case of this experience I was mildly disappointed.
My significant other and I decided we would eat the Sequoia brewing company since he had never been there before, and I just wanted to eat something easy on my digestive system. I had eaten prior to having lunch at the Seqouia brewing company and thought I would give  their half a sandwich and salad a try since I had not tried these items there before.  The first thing wrong was the server did not give me a choice of salads for the side salad which they are suppose to offer at least based on the menu. (if i am wrong about this readers, you can call me out on it) Also when I did get my food, I had the wrong bread  on what was called a “sandwich” was not a “sandwich” in the broadest since of the word. I got two pieces of bread with lettuce and turkey, no condiments, or tomato, or cucumber or anything else on it.  Then the final coffin on this eh experience was that the server could not leave his shift until the bill was paid for. I know that my significant other and I did come at the sort of end of lunch time and I get wanting the shift to be over but in this I felt rushed a bit.
However, even with this negative experience I can attest to this their sweet potato fries are good, along with the condiments with it, and my significant other seemed to love their hand crafted beers.  I am sort of on the fence about this place and might give them another try at some point in the future, just to see if they can prove me wrong after this “eh” experience. I think I am just one of those people who want consistency wherever I go to eat, more so now since I am unemployed so I would like to get bang for my buck.

My average experience at hometown buffet

I recently went to “Hometown Buffet” with my family to celebrate mothers day.  The food was average, not good, not bad never anything to rave about. When it comes to hometown buffet I know what to expect, its like an average burger place you know what you are getting.  I know that they might be known for their ribs and sliced meats.  I am still wishing they served chicken gravy, because it always tasted better than their beef gravy.
Even with these downsides “Hometown Buffet” does have some perks. For instance they now have instant coffee , slushy, and horchata machines.  Also their is a whole rack filled with condiments to add to your food. Even with my expectations and these now added perks, the one thing that disappointed me this time when I went to hometown buffet was the service. The last time we were their are plates were cleared every couple plates. This time by the end of the meal, none of our plates were cleared at all.
This too me is a sign that either that the local is understaffed or that our table was not a priority at the time. The reason this was such a faux pas to me is because no one wants to see their mostly eaten food when they are trying to eat a meal. I know, I don’t anyway.  So readers I have to ask if you have had any better or worse eating experiences at “Hometown Buffet”?
